THERE ARE A NUMBER OF LOCAL ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES AVAILABLE THAT MAY BE OF INTEREST TO PARENTS AND CARERS OF OAKLEIGH SCHOOL CHILDREN.

BARNET'S DISABLED CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES (short breaks) is aimed at children, young people and their families who live in Barnet. You can find out what short break services are available listed in the short breaks directory. The directory includes a list of providers that have met our quality threshold. BARNET TRAMPOLINING FOR ALL - This is an established trampolining club for children of all ages with special needs. It takes place on Mondays 5.00-6.30pm, at Q E Girls School. It is run by experienced coaches, parents/carers stay with their child, and a free trial session is available to see if you child enjoys it. BARNET ENVIRONMENT CENTRE - situated on a 7.5 acre nature reserve which is a 'Site of Local Importance for Nature Conservation'. The Friends of Barnet Environment Centre is a registered charity which provides events for the local community and activities for schools in order to educate and inspire a lasting interest in and appreciation of the natural world.. FREE LEISURE PASS FOR CARERS AND FOSTER CARERS - You are entitled to a free Barnet Leisure Pass if you provide unpaid care and support to someone. The pass gives you access to free swimming sessions, as well as discounts on a wide range of other activities at any of the five leisure centres in Barnet. [More info]

ALDENHAM COUNTRY PLAYGROUND is an inclusive adventure playground for children / young people with learning difficulties. We have taken children there, and it was a huge success. It is very exciting and even has indoor play facilities including a sensory room, soft play room and a changing room which includes a hoist. Facilities including climbing frames, a cable ride and sand pit have all been specifically designed for children with disabilities.
The BOND HOTEL will review your requirements and match these with accessible bedrooms that are equipped to meet your needs. There is lift access to all floors and all of our bedrooms have level access wet floor showers, widened doorways for easy access, grab rails and a 24-hour emergency call system that is linked to the hotel reception team.
CAMP SIMCHA exists to improve the quality of life for Jewish families affected by serious childhood illness. Their mission is to ensure that no such child, anywhere in the UK has to suffer without their support.

DEMAND (DESIGN AND MANUFACTURE FOR DISABILITY) endeavour to help people with disabilities improve their lived experience both day to day and by being able to access more life enriching opportunities. They help people of any age, and with any kind of disability regardless of their financial circumstance.
DIMENSIONS provide free national autism friendly training for all cinemas across the country. They also partner directly with Odeon, Cineworld, Vue, Showcase and Picturehouse to host autism friendly screenings at over 350 cinemas nationwide. On Sunday mornings throughout the month, films suitable for all audiences are screened in a sensory friendly and inclusive environment.
