PSA & Fundraising
PARENT STAFF ASSOCIATION (PSA)
The Oakleigh School and Early Years Centre Parent Staff Association (PSA) is an organisation made up of parents and staff.
All parents/carers of children at Oakleigh School and Acorn Assessment Centre as well as all staff are automatically members of the PSA.
The PSA organises events and supports fundraising work for key projects in school. Fundraising events provide an opportunity for parents, staff and pupils to get together.
Raising money is a really important role of the PSA and this is done throughout the year in a variety of ways.
All information on up and coming events is on the website and is sent out via our text messaging service.
The PSA committee decide how to spend PSA funds based on the school needs or specific requests. Funds raised by the PSA are intended to provide 'extras' not already provided by the school's main income.
The PSA have an Annual General Meeting at which a committee is elected to run the PSA – consisting of a chair, a treasurer, a secretary and ordinary committee members. PSA committees usually meet once a term and all parents and carers are invited.
We are always looking for new people to come to our meetings or join the committee, as new fundraising ideas are always welcome as well as new people to share them with. If you would like to know more about the PSA or how you can get involved please the school office office@oakleigh.barnetmail.net
You can also find us on Facebook - Oakleigh School PSA Group https://m.facebook.com/groups/1460250597344111 or email us at: psa@oakleigh.barnetmail.net. Note that this is a secure closed group, so please complete your child’s name and class, and your request will be processed by the school office.
Fundraising
At Oakleigh and Acorn, we teach children who have a huge range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including profound physical and medical needs and Autism. This impacts greatly on how they interact with other people and the world around them.
Our curriculum is highly multi-sensory, and we provide practical, fun and stimulating activities to help the children to learn and develop. We use a wide range of specialist and personalised teaching approaches, resources and equipment to enable the children to develop to their maximum potential.
However, there are always financial pressures, and the specialist provision is very expensive. We always welcome donations to improve our provision.
We are registered with HMRC (Registered Charity Number 802621) to claim back Gift Aid from donations given by UK tax payers. If you do make a donation, please download the Gift Aid Declaration form and return it to Oakleigh School.
