Fundraising
Our children are faced with immense difficulties.
Some have life-limiting conditions, others have severe problems with sight, hearing, communication and mobility.
We also have children with severe autism, for whom every day is a constant challenge, and other young children who, with our early support, can move into mainstream school. They and their families need continual support.
Yet Oakleigh School is filled with laughter, comradeship, achievement and the most life-affirming spirit!! Every day our children learn new skills, new understanding and new ways in which to control their lives.
But there are always financial pressures. Our children need an enormous amount of stimulating activities, specialist equipment, highly-trained staff & therapists to help them progress; this specialist provision is extraordinarily expensive.
Every penny donated to Oakleigh School and the Early Years Centre works hard to help support the lives of our pupils,improving the quality of their lives both now and in the future.

Impact is a hugely creative and contemporary theatre company, founded by actress Amanda Noar and now in its 12th year. From humble beginnings with just a handful of locals, Impact has now evolved into a thriving and highly successful theatre company. Cast members are from all over North London, from various cultural backgrounds and of all age groups.
Each year Impact stages a musical the profits from which are donated to charity. For their 2012 production of the ever-popular musical ANNIE, they have chosen Oakleigh Special School and the Early Years Learning Centre as their nominated charity.
Update April 2012
Following the production of ANNIE by Impact Theatre Company, we are delighted to be able to say that the magnificent sum of £21,412.40 was raised for Oakleigh School. We are so grateful to Impact for this astonishing amount and cannot thank them enough.
This sum includes an extraordinarily generous individual donation of £12,736 from a donor who would prefer to remain anonymous; this has been specifically earmarked for the purchase of 2 Tobii EyeGaze computers, which will be of enormous use throughout the school. This equipment allows children to “eyepoint” to make choices from options displayed on a computer screen; these choices could be do with which activities a child would prefer, perhaps which toy they would like to play with, food they would prefer, etc etc., and over time will improve the communication skills for many of our children.
The remainder of the money is being used to buy some very large playground musical instruments, accessible to all of our children. We have already had the opportunity to try some of it out, before purchase, and saw for ourselves how much the children enjoyed it.
We look forward to seeing it installed in our playground later this term. Any money left over will be used to buy, amongst other things, a range of exciting musical instruments for use within school.

The staff and patrons of the nearby York Arms Public House saved a fantastic amount of over £400 in their bar-side bottle money pots in aid of Oakleigh School. A cheque was presented to the Headteacher Jenny Gridley on 7th March 2013. A big thank you to the York Arms!
