PART TIME MUSIC THERAPIST
2 DAYS PER WEEK DURING TERM TIME
One of these days must be a Tuesday. The second day cannot be a Wednesday.
SALARY: You will be contracted for 2 days (12 hours) paid at the rate of £30/hour. The contract will include 4 weeks holiday pay pro rata and sickness entitlements. Supervision will be funded.
Oakleigh is an outstanding school for children aged 4 – 11, with severe and complex learning difficulties. Many of the children have physical and sensory needs and others have a diagnosis of autistic spectrum condition. On site is an early years’ setting which caters for children from birth to 5 with a wide variety of special needs.
A state registered music therapist is required to run individual, group and family sessions. Music therapy is well established and valued in the school. You will work closely with the drama and movement therapist who is also employed for 2 days/week.
The successful candidate will need to be flexible, innovative and well-motivated, showing an understanding of a school setting. You will need excellent communication skills with the confidence to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The position could suit someone who has experience or is newly-qualified.

SCHOOL CARETAKER
The School/Centre caters for children with severe and complex learning difficulties and a wide range of special needs.
The successful applicant will work for 30 hours per week in conjunction with our current site manager who is reducing his hours to take flexible retirement. You will be an integral part of the school team.
You will need to be flexible, working set hours most weeks usually between 7.30am and 1.30pm,on weekdays, but be able to work afternoon shifts to 6pm and weekends when necessary to cover holidays and lettings as required.
Essential skills and attributes include:
- Possessing handyman and gardening skills
- Being at ease with children with disabilities/complex needs
- Maintaining the premises to a high standard of repair and cleanliness
- Having excellent interpersonal skills
- Staying calm under pressure

The school is for primary aged children with severe and complex learning difficulties and The Early Years Centre provides assessment and early intervention for pre-school children with a wide range of special needs.
The school is innovative and creates exciting opportunities for children. There is a 'can do' approach with continuous professional development and improvement at the heart of its ethos.
Experience of working with children with Autism Spectrum Conditions or Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties would be an advantage.
